Sailing Komodo on Bombana 1 or Bombana 2 means 3 days and 2 nights on a small phinisi, leaving Labuan Bajo every Monday & Friday. A bed in a shared cabin costs from IDR 2,950,000 (≈ USD 181) per person on Bombana 1 and IDR 4,250,000 (≈ USD 261) on Bombana 2. The park ticket is paid separately.
Next sailing, and the fare per person
The next open-trip departure is Friday, 6 November 2026. Bombana 1 and Bombana 2 both sail 3 days and 2 nights on Monday & Friday, and the calendar below lists every date.
A seat here means a bed in a shared cabin. Bombana 1 starts at IDR 2,950,000 (≈ USD 181) per person and Bombana 2 at IDR 4,250,000 (≈ USD 261). That covers the whole three days: meals, a guide, snorkel masks, and the ride from your hotel or the airport. The park ticket is not in it.
The calendar shows one row per date. Message us the date and your headcount, and we confirm in writing which cabins and beds are free on that sailing.
Sharing cabins are shared with other guests on the sailing, and we arrange them with you at booking. A private cabin is yours alone and needs at least 2 guests.
Open trips leave every Monday and Friday. A date taken by a private charter is not listed. A dash against a boat means it is not sailing that date.
Two sisters at one jetty
Bombana 2 has the master cabin, with a king bed, a bathtub and a balcony. It also has a water heater in every cabin, a round tub (jacuzzi) at the bow, a canoe and a paddle board.
Bombana 1 is the cheaper fare and the one that fits a big group. It has a sun deck with bean bags, semi-outdoor dining and towels. Both boats have a karaoke set.
Which sister?
- Bombana 1 if you are 9 to 15 people, or the lowest fare decides it.
- Bombana 2 if you want the bathtub cabin, hot water in every cabin, or the canoe and paddle board.

Three days on the water, in order
The printed route is the same on both boats. You meet by 10:00 in Labuan Bajo on day 1, and the last lunch is served on the way back on day 3.
Day by day
- Day 1. The easy one: Kelor's short steep hill, a swim at Manjarite, then the flying foxes at Kalong around sunset.
- Day 2. The long one. Padar before sunrise, Pink Beach, Komodo Island with a ranger, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. You'll sleep well.
- Day 3. Siaba or Sebayur for a last swim, lunch aboard, and back in Labuan Bajo around midday.
Book flights home for after 13:00. Dragons and mantas are wild animals and we can't promise either, because tide, current and the day decide. Where the boat spends each night is the weather and the captain's decision that day.
The stop-by-stop version sits on the 3-day, 2-night route page.
Three steps, message to boat
If you are stuck between the two boats, send the date and the headcount, and ask which one we'd pick. Deposit, change and cancellation terms are set out on the booking page, and the side-by-side sits on the comparison page. Once the deposit lands, you get an invoice and the meeting point for day 1.

Who sails with us first: couples, active trips, snorkellers
Couples. Two of you in one cabin on a small boat. The master cabin on Bombana 2 has the king bed, bathtub and balcony, while Bombana 1 offers a private cabin at a lower fare. The couples page lays out the choice cabin by cabin.
Active trips. Three climbs sit on the route: Kelor, Padar before sunrise, and the ranger-led walk on Komodo Island. Bombana 2 adds a canoe and a paddle board for the flat-water hours. The active trips page says who finds day 2 too much.
Snorkelling. There are five water stops, with masks on both boats. Manta Point has a current and suits confident swimmers. The snorkelling page covers the best months for mantas.
Most groups are a bit of each. Start with the page closest to yours and ask us the rest.
What the fare buys, and what stays on your bill

- Hotel or airport pickup and drop-off in the Labuan Bajo city area.
- Seven meals on the route, plus snacks and drinks.
- A guide, and photo and video documentation, on the open trip.

FAQ
Is a three-day phinisi trip in Komodo worth it?
Day 2 alone fits Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach, a ranger-led walk on Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Days 1 and 3 are lighter. Bombana 1 and Bombana 2 carry at most 15 and 13 guests, so the group at each stop stays small. We can't promise a dragon or a manta, but there are five water stops along the way.
What does an open trip mean on the Bombanas?
You buy a bed or a cabin, not the boat. Other guests fill the rest on the same printed route, leaving every Monday & Friday. Sharing cabins are shared with other guests exactly as listed, and a private cabin needs at least 2 guests. If you want nobody else aboard, ask about the whole boat on the charter page.
Is three days enough, or should I take four?
Three days and two nights covers every printed stop from Kelor to Siaba or Sebayur. A fourth day adds Gili Lawa, Sebayur, Kanawa and Rangko Cave, but that route is a private charter only. The open trip is 3 days and 2 nights on both boats, so the longer route means booking the whole boat.
What is the lowest price per person?
A bed in Sharing Cabin 4 on Bombana 1: IDR 2,950,000 (≈ USD 181) per person for 3 days and 2 nights. The lowest on Bombana 2 is IDR 4,250,000 (≈ USD 261) in a sharing cabin. Park ticket, flights, hotel nights and crew tips are extra. These are the 2026 fares, and if a 2027 fare changes before your balance is due we tell you first.
Will I be seasick on a boat with 5 cabins?
We can't promise you won't be. Small boats move more than big ones, and the sea changes with the month: July and August are windier, while the dry months either side are calmer. The 3 days stay between islands. Our seasickness guide covers what to eat, where to sit and when to tell the crew, and you can ask us about your month.
How do I hold a seat for the next Monday or Friday?
Message us the date and your headcount on WhatsApp, pick the boat and cabin, then pay the 50 percent deposit. The balance is due 30 days before departure. The next open-trip date is Friday, 6 November 2026. We confirm the cabins and beds free on that date by message.
