Children aged 0 to 2 travel free on Bombana 1 and Bombana 2, and from age 3 the full fare applies. Cabins sleep 3 or 4, extra beds exist in some, and a whole boat for a family of 6 on Bombana 2 is IDR 59,750,000 (≈ USD 3,666) for 3 days and 2 nights.
Ages and fares
Children aged 0 to 2 travel free with a parent or guardian. From age 3 the full fare applies, on both boats and in every cabin. That is a flat rule, so a 3-year-old and a 13-year-old pay the same seat fare.
The things to weigh are the early start at Padar, the loose steep path and a long second day. You know your child's stamina better than any age rule would.
Tell us each child's age in your first message. The park ticket is bought per visitor, in each name, and we confirm what applies to each age when we register your group. The park fees page has the adult rates, and the fare tables on the cabins page show what a seat costs. Send the ages and the dates in one message, and the booking team returns a written plan for the beds, the cabins and the fare, so nothing is left to settle at the jetty on the morning of day 1.
Sleeping a family of three, or four
Bombana 2 has the most options. The Master Cabin and the Private Cabin with Balcony both have an extra bed available, so a couple can add one child. The main-deck sharing cabin sleeps four, and the lower-deck one, a queen bed and a single, sleeps three.
Bombana 1 offers an extra bed in its Private Cabin and in the Private Cabin with Balcony. Sharing Cabin 3 sleeps three, on a double bed and a single. Sharing Cabin 4 sleeps four, on single beds.
Book every bed of a sharing cabin and the cabin is your family's in practice. Ask us to confirm that for your date, because sharing cabins are shared with other guests exactly as listed.
Whole boat, one family
Cousins, grandparents and a family of 6 with friends along make a good case for the private charter. It gives you the boat. Bombana 1 takes up to 15 guests and Bombana 2 up to 13.
A family of 6 on Bombana 2 pays IDR 59,750,000 (≈ USD 3,666) for 3 days and 2 nights, which is IDR 9,960,000 (≈ USD 611) a head. A group of 8 on Bombana 1 pays IDR 39,000,000 (≈ USD 2,393), or IDR 4,880,000 (≈ USD 299) a head.

Treks, swims and the early start
Kelor is a short steep hill on day 1, a climb of 15 to 30 minutes. Padar on day 2 starts before sunrise and takes about 25 to 45 minutes up. On Komodo Island a ranger leads the walk on the shorter trails.
Pink Beach and Taka Makassar are shallow with mild current. Manta Point has a strong current, so it suits confident swimmers. Life jackets are on board, with 30 on Bombana 2. Ask us about child sizes before you travel.
Day 2 is long, running from the dark climb at Padar to a snorkel at Manta Point after the Komodo walk. Plan a rest in the afternoon. Keep the evening quiet.

Seasickness decides more family trips than anything else. If one of you is prone, read the seasickness guide and look at the months before choosing a date.
Dates run on Monday & Friday. The next open-trip sailing is Friday, 6 November 2026. A 50 percent deposit confirms the booking and the balance follows 30 days before departure.

At what age does a child pay the full fare?

Can a family take a whole sharing cabin on the open trip?
Yes, by booking every bed in it. Bombana 2 has a main-deck sharing cabin for four and a lower-deck one for three. Bombana 1 has Sharing Cabin 3 for three and Sharing Cabin 4 for four. We confirm the arrangement with your date.
Is the early start at Padar hard on small children?
Guests leave the boat about 65 minutes before sunrise and climb for 25 to 45 minutes on a loose, steep path in the dark. Some children manage it and some don't. Tell us your children's ages. We'll give you our view.
Which boat suits a family of five?
Both take five. A whole Bombana 2 for 5 guests is IDR 59,750,000 (≈ USD 3,666) for 3 days and 2 nights, and a whole Bombana 1 is IDR 39,000,000 (≈ USD 2,393). Bombana 2 gives each family group an ensuite cabin with a water heater, while Bombana 1 has the lower fare.
