Labuan Bajo before you sail: hotels, flights and pickup

Arrive in Labuan Bajo the day before: open trip guests on Bombana 1 or Bombana 2 are at the meeting point by 10:00 on day 1, and flights home should leave after 13:00. We advise on flights, book partner hotels at a rate the hotel confirms, and pick you up free inside the city area.
Arrive a day early
Land in Labuan Bajo the day before you sail. Open-trip guests have to be at the meeting point by 10:00 on day 1, and a delayed flight that morning can cost you the boat. Late arrivals arrange their own taxi boat, at their own cost.
The airport is 2 to 3 km from the harbour, about 10 minutes by car. Pickup from your hotel or the airport inside the city area is free, twice. Menjaga, Melo and Rangko are charged extra, and we quote that before we add anything.
We confirm your meeting point with your date, so day 1 starts calmly and not in a taxi.
Partner hotels, by area
Choose the area first, then the hotel. The marina and town centre put you within walking distance of the harbour, and Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo and the budget Komodo Lodge are the closest. Waecicu Beach has AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach, and Pede Beach has Sudamala Resort Komodo. Both are a 15 to 20 minute drive from the harbour. The hills above town hold Loccal Collection Hotel, and Crowne Plaza Labuan Bajo by IHG sits near the airport.

Flights in and out
Most visitors reach Labuan Bajo from Bali (DPS), Jakarta (CGK) or Surabaya (SUB), and Lombok is a smaller feeder. Flights take about 1 h 10 min to 1 h 20 min from Bali, about 1 h 30 min from Surabaya, 2 h 30 min to 3 h from Jakarta and about 1 h from Lombok. Garuda Indonesia, Batik Air, Citilink and Indonesia AirAsia fly from Bali and Jakarta, Super Air Jet from Surabaya and Wings Air on the shorter island routes. Schedules change.
We advise on flights but don't sell tickets. Send us your flights in and out, and we'll check them against the sailing dates. Fly home after 13:00, because the boat is back in Labuan Bajo around midday on day 3 with a last lunch aboard.

Rooms booked with the boat
We book hotel rooms as well as boats. Put the hotel, the nights and the number of rooms in the same WhatsApp message as the boat, and one person handles the lot. The room rate is confirmed with the hotel and quoted to you in writing, with no platform fee on top.
Contract rates stay off this site. Where the list shows a price, it is the lowest public price we have seen online. The rate we quote comes from the hotel and is confirmed before you pay.

Using the hotel list
Treat the list as a planning tool, not a promise. Rates move with the season, and a hotel can change its rooms without telling us. Distances are approximate, and a few are estimates for properties on islands, where the figure is a transfer time.
If your hotel is not on the list, ask anyway. Pickup from any hotel inside the city area is free.
The 3-day route shows what day 1 asks of you. A hotel near the harbour makes the 10:00 meeting point easy, while a beach resort means an earlier start.
FAQ
Which area is best for the night before sailing?
The marina and town centre, because you can walk to the harbour from there. Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo and Komodo Lodge are about 0.5 km away. The beach resorts at Waecicu and Pede are a 15 to 20 minute drive away and quieter, and pickup from them is free inside the city area.
Can your team book my hotel for me?
Yes. Send the hotel, the dates and the number of rooms with your boat booking. We confirm the rate with the hotel and quote it in writing, with no platform fee. We advise on flights too, and we don't sell the tickets.
Do hotels in Menjaga, Melo and Rangko get free pickup?
No. Pickup is free inside the Labuan Bajo city area, twice. Menjaga, Melo and Rangko are charged extra. We quote the amount in writing before we add it, and nothing changes in your fare until you say yes.
What time should my flight home leave?
After 13:00. On day 3 the boat returns to Labuan Bajo around midday after Siaba or Sebayur, with a last lunch aboard. Anything earlier leaves no margin for the transfer from the harbour to the airport.
Should I fly in on the morning of the sailing?
No. Land the day before. Open trip guests are at the meeting point by 10:00 on day 1, and one cancelled or late flight can cost you the boat. A late arrival means your own taxi boat to catch up, at your own cost.
