How to book a Komodo sailing trip on Bombana 1 or Bombana 2

To book a Komodo sailing trip on Bombana 1 or Bombana 2, message us the date and your headcount, choose a boat and cabin, pay the 50 percent deposit, and pay the balance 30 days before departure. Open trips leave every Monday & Friday, 3 days and 2 nights, from IDR 2,950,000 (≈ USD 181) per person.
What happens between your message and the jetty
It takes three steps. First, a WhatsApp message with the date you want and how many of you are going. Second, you choose the boat and cabin and pay the 50 percent deposit. Third, the balance, 30 days before departure.
In between, we confirm your seat or the whole boat in writing, send the meeting point and answer your questions. Nothing is added to the price without a written quote.

Your first message: four things
Send us four things.
- The date, or the month if you're flexible.
- How many people, with ages for any child.
- One cabin or the whole boat.
- A favourite boat, if you have one.
The WhatsApp button prefills most of it: Hi, I'm looking at Bombana 1 / Bombana 2 for a date. We are a number of people. Which boat do you suggest? Add the date and the number, and send.
If you're travelling alone, say so. A bed in a sharing cabin is the solo option, and we confirm who else is on your date before you pay.
If you already know your cabin, name it. Cabin names are on the cabins page, and fares are in the table there.
Choosing the boat and the cabin
Choose the boat by group size and by what you want from the room. Bombana 2 holds the bathtub master cabin and a water heater in every cabin, and takes up to 13. Bombana 1 holds up to 15 at the lower fare.
The comparison page sets them side by side, and the two cabin pages give every fare: Bombana 1 and Bombana 2.
Then choose the cabin. A private cabin needs at least 2 guests. A sharing cabin is shared with other guests, exactly as listed. Where a cabin is quoted on request, as with the Bombana 1 Master Cabin, we send a written fare first.
If you're unsure, send the date and the numbers and ask which we'd book. We get asked that all the time.
Paying: deposit, balance, and how to change
The deposit is 50 percent, paid after you choose the boat and the cabin. The balance is due 30 days before departure. Book inside that window and you pay in full.
If you cancel 60 days or more before departure, 50 percent comes back. Between 30 and 59 days it's 25 percent. A date change is free 30 or more days before departure, costs IDR 500,000 from 14 to 29 days before, and inside 14 days counts as a cancellation. The table below sets out every step.
Payment methods are shown in the payment block. A card or PayPal payment carries a fee of 7.2 percent where it applies. Prices are the 2026 card, and for 2027 dates the same card applies until 2027 fares are published. If a fare changes before your balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel at no cost.
Travel insurance is not included, and we advise taking it out.

A substitute phinisi, or a full refund
If the boat you booked can't sail on your date, because of a fault or an order from the port or the park, we offer a phinisi of equal or higher standard on the same date at no extra cost. Or you take a full refund within 14 days.
The choice is yours. We can't promise the replacement has the same cabin names.

Day 1, before the boat leaves
Be at the meeting point in Labuan Bajo by 10:00 on day 1. We confirm the meeting point with your date. Pickup from a hotel or the airport in the city area is included, both ways. Menjaga, Melo and Rangko areas are charged extra, and we quote that first.
Late arrivals arrange their own taxi boat at their own cost. Land the day before if you can. Our Labuan Bajo page lists hotels near the harbour.
Bring your passport or ID, the park ticket payment in your own name, closed shoes, a head torch and a soft bag. The services page covers pickup upgrades, and the park fees page covers the ticket. Book flights home for after 13:00.
FAQ
What should I confirm before paying a deposit on a Komodo trip?
Confirm five things in writing: the boat name, the cabin, the date, what the fare includes and the refund steps. For us that means Bombana 1 or Bombana 2, the cabin name, a Monday & Friday sailing, a fare that leaves out the park ticket, and the 50 percent deposit terms. Ask who else shares the cabin if it is a sharing one.
Can I pay the deposit by card or PayPal?
Payment methods are listed in the payment block on this page. A card or PayPal payment carries a fee of 7.2 percent where it applies. Amounts are in rupiah, and we confirm the total in writing before you pay the 50 percent deposit.
What if I land on the morning of day 1?
Guests must be at the meeting point by 10:00 on day 1. Late arrivals arrange their own taxi boat at their own cost, so land the day before and fly home after 13:00. If your flight is early, message us the time and we'll tell you what works.
Can I book a 2027 date now?
Yes. The same Monday and Friday pattern is open for booking for 2027, 3 days and 2 nights. The current rates apply until 2027 rates are published. If a rate changes before your balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel at no cost.
