Komodo boat charter: Bombana 1 or Bombana 2, your group only
Updated 23 October 2026
A Komodo boat charter gives your group Bombana 1 (up to 15 guests) or Bombana 2 (up to 13) with nobody else aboard. Three days and two nights start at IDR 39,000,000 (≈ USD 2,393) on Bombana 1 and IDR 55,750,000 (≈ USD 3,420) on Bombana 2. Guide and documentation are quoted separately.
Your group, the whole boat
Private means nobody else on deck. All 5 cabins are yours, and so are the table and the bow. Bombana 1 takes up to 15 guests and Bombana 2 up to 13.
Start with the size of your group. Nine to 15 people point to Bombana 1. Four or fewer, or a party that wants the bathtub master cabin and the round tub (jacuzzi) at the bow, point to Bombana 2. Anywhere in between, either boat works and the price settles it.
The lengths are 2 days and 1 night, 3 days and 2 nights, or 4 days and 3 nights. Dates are yours to choose. We check the boat is free and confirm the date in writing.
Charter means your date, your group and the whole boat. The per-person table below shows what each guest pays once the cost is shared, and the figure falls as the group grows.
Prices by group size and length
Three things set the price: which boat, how many of you, and how many nights. Bombana 1 has three bands, for 1 to 8, 9 to 12 and 13 to 15 guests. Bombana 2 has four, for 1 to 4, 5 to 7, 8 to 10 and 11 to 13.
The first table gives the whole-boat price for each band and length. The second divides it by the number of guests, so you can see what each person pays. Read down for the band, then across for the length.
- Bombana 1, 3 days and 2 nights: IDR 39,000,000 (≈ USD 2,393) for 1 to 8, IDR 42,000,000 (≈ USD 2,577) for 9 to 12, IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761) for 13 to 15.
- Bombana 2, 3 days and 2 nights: IDR 55,750,000 (≈ USD 3,420) for 1 to 4, IDR 59,750,000 (≈ USD 3,666) for 5 to 7, IDR 64,750,000 (≈ USD 3,972) for 8 to 10, IDR 69,750,000 (≈ USD 4,279) for 11 to 13.
Bombana 2 takes 13 guests at most, so its top band is the last. If your party sits right on a band line, message us and we confirm which band applies. The bigger the group, the lower the price per head.

What the fare buys
A charter fare covers the boat and its crew for your dates, meals, snacks and drinks, snorkel masks, and pickup and drop-off in the Labuan Bajo city area, hotel or airport, twice. The lists below show what is in and what stays on your bill.
Menjaga, Melo and Rangko pickups are charged extra. We quote them first, so the total on your invoice matches your message. The park ticket is IDR 250,000 per person per day for international visitors, paid separately.

- Private charter: tour guide and photo/video documentation (on request, quoted separately)
Guide and photos: separate lines
On a private charter, the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included, at any length. We quote them in writing on request, and nothing goes onto a charter without your yes. The open trip is different: both are in the fare.
Documentation means a photographer or videographer working with camera and GoPro. Drone footage, and your own drone, need a park permit. A guide for the Komodo Island walk is a ranger, and park rules require one in any case.
Splitting the price by head
Worked examples, straight from the tables. For 10 guests on Bombana 1, a 3-day trip costs IDR 42,000,000 (≈ USD 2,577) in total, or IDR 4,200,000 (≈ USD 258) per person. For 6 guests on Bombana 2 it is IDR 59,750,000 (≈ USD 3,666) in total, or IDR 9,960,000 (≈ USD 611) per person.
Bombana 1 gets cheaper per head as the group grows. At a full 15 guests it comes to IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) each, close to the lowest open-trip fare of IDR 2,950,000 (≈ USD 181).
On the open trip, a guide and documentation are in the fare. On the charter you get the deck, the table and your own dates, and the guide and documentation are quoted on top.
If a fault stops Bombana sailing
A fault on the boat, or an order from the port or the park, can stop it sailing. If your boat can't sail on your dates, we put your group on a phinisi of equal or higher standard on the same date at no extra cost. Or we refund you in full within 14 days. You choose.
That promise is about the date. It does not name a boat, and it can't promise a particular cabin. It does mean you won't be left on the jetty with a deposit receipt.
It applies to both Bombana 1 and Bombana 2, and to the open trip as well as the charter. Our booking page repeats it step by step.
2027 runs on the same terms. The current price card stays in force until 2027 prices are published, and if a price changes before your balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel at no cost.
Deposit, change and cancel
The deposit is 50 percent, paid after you choose the boat and the length. The balance is due 30 days before departure. Book inside that window and you pay in full.
Cancellation runs in steps, set out in the table. Cancel 60 days or more before departure and 50 percent comes back, or 25 percent between 30 and 59 days. A date change is free 30 or more days before departure, costs IDR 500,000 from 14 to 29 days before, and inside 14 days counts as a cancellation.
Payment methods are in the block below, including a card or PayPal fee of 7.2 percent where it applies. Once the deposit lands, you get an invoice by WhatsApp or email. Keep it. It lists exactly what you've paid for.
For group-size questions, the small groups page has more.

FAQ
What separates an open trip from a private trip on Bombana?
On the open trip you buy a cabin or a bed and share the boat with other guests, leaving only on Monday & Friday. On a private trip your group has the whole boat, up to 15 on Bombana 1 or 13 on Bombana 2, on dates agreed with us. The open trip includes a guide and documentation, and the charter does not.
Is a guide included when I charter the whole boat?
No. On a private charter the guide and photo documentation are not included at any length, 2, 3 or 4 days. We quote them in writing on request, and the rest of the fare is the boat, meals, drinks, masks and pickup. The open trip includes both.
What happens if Bombana can't sail on my charter dates?
We offer a phinisi of equal or higher standard on the same date at no extra cost, or a full refund within 14 days. You decide which. The promise covers the date, not a named boat or a specific cabin. It applies to charters and open trips alike.
Is hotel pickup included in a charter?
Yes, twice, which means 2 legs: hotel or airport to the boat, and back, within the Labuan Bajo city area. Menjaga, Melo and Rangko are charged extra, and we quote it before adding anything. A bigger vehicle for a larger group is available on request.
Is the park fee part of the charter price?
No. The park ticket is never in any fare. It costs IDR 250,000 per person per day for international visitors, IDR 50,000 for Indonesian visitors and IDR 75,000 for Indonesians at weekends. You pay it separately in your own name. Pier and ranger levies can change and are extra.
How do I ask for a charter quote?
Message us on WhatsApp with the dates, the length (2, 3 or 4 days), the number of guests and your boat preference. We reply with a written price from the tables above, with the guide or documentation added if you want them. Pay the 50 percent deposit to hold the date.
