Bombana Sailing Komodo
Komodo tour 2 days 1 night by sailing boat: what fits and what is cut
Updated 23 October 2026
A Komodo tour of 2 days and 1 night on Bombana 1 or Bombana 2 is a private charter, from IDR 35,000,000 (≈ USD 2,147) for the whole of Bombana 1 or IDR 51,000,000 (≈ USD 3,129) for Bombana 2. It fits Kelor, Manjarite, Kalong, Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo. It cuts Taka Makassar and Manta Point.
What two days can hold
Two days is a short hop, not a shrunken version of the longer trip. It keeps six of the nine printed stops and drops three. If you have one free weekend or a flight you can't move, that's a fair trade. If you came for mantas, it isn't.
On Bombana 1 and Bombana 2 the 2-day, 1-night trip is sold as a private charter only. The open trip, every Monday & Friday, is 3 days and 2 nights and never shorter. That means the whole boat is yours: up to 15 guests on Bombana 1, up to 13 on Bombana 2.
Day 1 is the easy half. Day 2 is the half you'll talk about. Both are below, stop by stop, and the charter page has the full price bands.
Day 1: Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong
Day 1 follows the printed route. You meet in Labuan Bajo, with hotel or airport pickup inside the city area. Then three stops, with lunch on board: a short climb on Kelor, a first snorkel at Manjarite, and the flying foxes of Kalong at sunset. Dinner follows.
The table below has each step in order. A charter sets its own pace with the captain.
Where the boat spends the night is the weather and the captain's decision that day. Day 2 opens at Padar, before sunrise.
Day 1
| What happens | Have ready | |
|---|---|---|
| · | Meet in Labuan Bajo. Hotel or airport pickup covers the city area, and open trip guests are at the meeting point by 10:00 | passport or ID |
| · | Kelor Island trek, then lunch | shoes with grip, water |
| · | Snorkelling at Manjarite | mask and snorkel |
| · | Sunset at Kalong Island, then dinner and free time | |
| 🌙 | Night aboard. Where the boat anchors for the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision on the day. | |
Day 2
| What happens | Have ready | |
|---|---|---|
| · | Padar Island trek, then breakfast | head torch, shoes with grip |
| · | Swim and free time at Pink Beach, then lunch | reef-safe sunscreen |
| · | Komodo Island trek | closed shoes, park ticket |
| · | Back to Labuan Bajo |
Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.
Day 2: a dark climb, a pink swim, a dragon walk
Day 2 starts early. Guests leave the boat for Padar about 65 minutes before sunrise, which is 05:31 in November and 06:18 in July. The climb takes 25 to 45 minutes on a loose, steep path, and a head torch helps in the dark.
Breakfast comes after the descent. Then a swim at Pink Beach, where the sand is pale pink rather than bright pink, and a ranger-led walk on Komodo Island. Rangers pick the trail, from the short loop to the long one, so the length of the walk is theirs to set. Lunch is on board on this day too.
After Komodo, the boat heads back to Labuan Bajo. Hold off booking a flight home until we've confirmed the return time for your date.
What gets cut, and what that costs you
Three things go. Taka Makassar, the sandbar and reef that only shows at low tide, is cut. So is Manta Point, the drift snorkel where manta rays are common but never guaranteed. And the whole of day 3 goes, which on the longer trip is a morning at Siaba or Sebayur.
Manta Point is the real loss. It's also the stop that asks most of a swimmer, so some people won't mind. Everything else you'd miss is a swim.
The two-day version keeps both sunrise and sunset, the dragon walk and one proper beach. If mantas matter to you, read the 3-day route. If a fourth day matters more, the 4-day charter adds Gili Lawa, Kanawa and Rangko Cave.
Price for the boat, and what it includes
Fares are for the whole boat, not per head. Bombana 1 starts at IDR 35,000,000 (≈ USD 2,147) for 1 to 8 guests. Bombana 2 starts at IDR 51,000,000 (≈ USD 3,129) for 1 to 4 guests. With 8 guests on Bombana 1 the total is IDR 35,000,000 (≈ USD 2,147), which is IDR 4,380,000 (≈ USD 269) each.
City-area transfers both ways, meals and snorkel masks are in the fare. A guide and photo or video documentation are not included on a private charter at any length. Ask, and we'll quote them in writing.
The park ticket is never in the fare. It is IDR 250,000 per person per day for international visitors, paid separately and in your own name, with ranger and pier levies on top that can change.

FAQ
Can I join a 2-day Komodo sailing trip as one cabin with strangers?
No. On Bombana 1 and Bombana 2 the 2-day, 1-night trip is a private charter for one group. Open trips run 3 days and 2 nights only, every Monday & Friday, and you can book a single cabin or a bed in a sharing cabin on those.
Is a guide included on the 2-day charter?
No. On a private charter at any length, a guide and photo or video documentation are not included. We quote them on request, in writing, so nothing is added without your yes. The fare itself covers city-area transfers, meals and snorkel masks. Park tickets are separate at IDR 250,000 per person per day for international visitors.
When do we get back to Labuan Bajo on day 2?
We confirm the return time with your date. Until then, leave your flight home unbooked, or pick an evening flight on day 2 with plenty of margin.
Is the Padar sunrise certain on a 2-day trip?
The climb is certain, the sky is not. Day 2 opens at Padar, with sunrise at 05:31 in November, and cloud can hide it even on a clear day at sea.
How many guests can share the 2-day charter price?
Bombana 1 prices by group size: IDR 35,000,000 (≈ USD 2,147) for 1 to 8 guests, IDR 38,000,000 (≈ USD 2,331) for 9 to 12 and IDR 41,000,000 (≈ USD 2,515) for 13 to 15. Bombana 2 holds up to 13, starting at IDR 51,000,000 (≈ USD 3,129) for 1 to 4.
